World Heritage
The Grand Canyon National Park is known for the beauty of the rock sediment and the layers shown through the 277 mile long canyon. The park has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site which protects the ancestral land of the Grand Canyon. Inspired by Native American symbols, the logo uses the sun, water, and mountains to create an abstract representation of the Grand Canyon. The eight vertical lines represent the eight tribes who inhabit the sacred land. The cohesive system uses a warm, earthy orange representing the natural sediment color of the canyon, paired with a complimentary blue to represent the Colorado river, and cream to match the warmth of the design package. The logo and design system effectively represents the heritage, scenery, and integrity of the Grand Canyon National Park.
